Question: Is this workshop live or prerecorded?

Answer: This workshop will be held live online! The class will be recorded if you have to miss a session, and you can reivew the recordings whenever you like.

Question: When does the workshop take place?

Answer: Saturdays July 11 – August 1, 10:00AM – 12:00PM PT. Bonus critique: August 8th at 10:00AM PT.

Question: Will the workshop include critiques and feedback for students?

Answer: Yes! Optional critique sessions will be held on August 8th at 10:00AM PT. All students are welcome to share their work.

Question: I won't be able to attend all workshop sessions or critique sessions. Will I miss out?

Answer: No! The workshop and critique session will be recorded so you can always view them later if you can't attend live.

Question: What mediums will be used in this workshop?

Answer: This workshop focuses on oil painting.

Question: Can I paint with other mediums besides oil?

Answer: I welcome students to experiment with other mediums, however, I am primarily an oil painter and will focus all of my instruction and demonstrations on oil painting.

Question: Will you provide photo reference for students?

Answer: Photo reference will be provided; however, I prefer that students to work from their own reference images or work from life.

Question: Is there a supply list?

Answer: Yes! There is a downloadable PDF of recommended materials and supplies.

Question: Do I need to purchase everything on the supply list?

Answer: No! If you already have drawing and oil painting supplies, then please feel free to use those.

Question: Do I need a special sketchbook for this class?

Answer: Not really. Many sketchbooks can be used for this class, as long as the paper is heavyweight (at least 165 gsm) and properly prepared. We'll cover the preparation of sketchbook pages in our first class session.

Question: Will students be expected paint during the workshop sessions?

Answer: Yes! I encourage you to paint along with me during demonstrations. Of course, if you prefer to just watch, that's fine, too.

Question: Can students ask questions during the workshop?

Answer: Yes! I encourage questions. For the sake of the workshop recording, I request that all questions be typed into the chat. I will answer questions live during the workshop.

Question: Are assignments included in this workshop?

Answer: Yes, there are recommended assignments provided for each week of the workshop.
